Summary

Lost Kingdoms

In Lost Kingdoms, the Kendarie Warriors are the soldiers of serving under the ruler of Kendaria, King Leod. One of them will help Katia, while another tries to, but fails.

The Kendarie Warriors appear only in two places in Lost Kingdoms. These locations are Kendarie Castle and the Yyprek Mines.

Kendarie Castle

When Katia sought an audience with King Leod to ask for the Runestone of Kendaria, he was too upset to listen to her and told a guard to open the doors so she could leave. Katia left the throne room disappointed and was about to leave the castle when a Kendarie Warrior ran to stop her so he could explain why the king was in a bad mood.

The Kendarie Warrior told Katia that King Leod was a very proud man, but this moment was not a proud one for them, as their Runestone had been stolen. He also mentioned that the Royal Guard of Kendaria had chased the thief who had stolen it to a mine a while ago, but they hadn't reported back since then. The warrior knew that an ordinary thief wouldn't stand a chance against them, so he was worried something horrible had happened.

After hearing what the Kendarie Warrior had to say, Katia left Kendarie Castle and traveled to the Yyprek Mines.

The Yyprek Mines

When Katia arrived at the Yyprek Mines, she met a lone Kendarie Warrior holding a torch and shaking with fear. This soldier was startled that someone had approached him, but once he saw her, they began to speak to each other. The Kendarie Warrior told Katia that he had gotten separated from the rest of the Royal Guard, then he decided to go with her, saying he could protect her as she traveled through the mines. Unfortunately, he wasn't very helpful. Monsters would constantly spot him, forcing Katia to protect him instead.

Eventually, Katia and the Kendarie Warrior got to the point where he was separated from the rest of the Royal Guard. He became too afraid to go any farther, so Katia went on without him. In the next room she found the rest of the guards, but they were all killed by the Runestone thief, the Puppet Master.

Lost Kingdoms II

In Lost Kingdoms II, the Kendarie Warriors are soldiers serving under the ruler of Kendaria, Duke Leod VIII. The Kendarie Warriors in this game are enemies to Tara.

The Kendarie Warriors appear in several places in Lost Kingdoms II. These locations are Bhashea High Road, Kendarie Fortress, the Lower Chambers of the Runestone Caverns, the Plains of Rowahl, Holzogh Town, and Sacred Battle Arena 1.

A few Kendarie Warriors also appear inside the throne room of Kendarie Castle in the last of the RUNE II webcomics. Two of the Kendarie Warriors stood guard in the room, another gave a message to Leod VIII, and two carried out his orders.

Kadishu

Tara first heard of the Kendarie Warriors in the town of Kadishu. Several of the townspeople mention them when spoken to.

Tara first spoke to man in the shade by the crossroads. He talked about the local Card Shop and what the owner there can do. While most of its customers were the Kendarie Warriors, he thought there might be something there that would be useful to her.

Another man by the trees near the fountain mentioned how the Kendarie had developed mechanical creatures made of iron. One of his friends had seen some of of these machines fighting alongside the soldiers.

Yet another man by a cart full of logs spoke of how the Kendarie had found a way to develop their own Runestones based on the One True Runestone that belonged to the Queen of Argwyll. The Kendarie were using both their Runestones and their machines to seize territory from other regions, but the Queen had convinced them to stop.

When Tara talked to a man by the exit on the hill, he spoke of the Band of the Scorpion. They had been robbing people for a long time, but a troop of Kendarie Warriors were currently looking for the bandits so they could to stop them. Afterwards, Tara quickly left Kadishu to return to Bhashea High Road and rescue the band.

Bhashea High Road

When Tara returned to Bhashea High Road, she was greeted by Sol. He went with her and helped her fight the Kendarie Warriors who had come to stop the Band of the Scorpion. They found and defeated three of them; one was by the first bridge, and two were at the camp the band had set up. The soldiers by the camp had already dispatched two of the bandits by the time Tara and Sol arrived.

After defeating the last of the Kendarie, the bandits' leader, Victor, vowed revenge on them by planning to find out where their Runestones were made and to steal every last one of them.

Kendarie Fortress

Four Kendarie Warriors are stationed at Kendarie Fortress. These soldiers are the first of the Kendarie that Tara met who fought using both blades and Runestones. The first three each held a key to gates with symbols, while the last guarded the switch to the main gate. While the key-holding Kendarie Warriors will not return once defeated, the boss Kendarie Warrior can be fought anytime the level is visited.

Tara and the rest of the Band of the Scorpion traveled to Kendarie Fortress, the outpost between the borders of Bhashea and Kendaria, on their way to the Runestone Caverns, the source of the Kendarie Runestones. The band was planning to go through it, but the way through was sealed by a massive gate. Seeing how the fortress was heavily fortified, Victor ordered Tara to go through by herself and find a way to open the gate. Sol objected, but Victor needed him to guard the rest of the Band as Tara was doing this. Victor trusted Tara, knowing she was the only one who could do it.

Tara went through Kendarie Fortress and defeated three Kendarie Warriors, each with a special key to gates that had symbols that matched them. A fourth soldier with more cards than the others prevented Tara from reaching the switch, but she fought with him and eventually won. Tara pulled the switch, the main gate opened, and the Band of the Scorpion continued on their journey.

Once Tara clears Kendarie Fortress, a Kendarie Warrior will become a playable character in VS Mode.

Upper Chambers

After going reaching Kendaria, the Band of the Scorpion arrived at the Runestone Caverns. When the Band of the Scorpion entered the Upper Chambers, some of them, including Sol, mentioned how it was odd that no Kendarie Warriors were stationed there.

Kendarie Castle

In one of the RUNE II webcomics that took place during the events of Lost Kingdoms II, Duke Leod VIII sat in the throne room with two Kendarie Warriors standing guard. The Duke was given a financial report by a minister. The region wasn't doing well, and the minister thought it may have been because the quality of the recently made Kendarie Runestones.

Hearing what the minister had to say, Leod VIII ordered a Kendarie Warrior to throw the minister into the Runestone Caverns so his soul could be turned into a Runestone, thinking one made with his soul would be higher quality. Afterwards, another soldier appeared with a report that the Band of the Scorpion reached the Runestone Caverns. Leod VIII decided to meet the bandits, then announced himself as the King of the world and the King of Runestones. Once the Duke did this, a nobleman murmured to himself how short he would be for a king. Leod VIII overheard the noble, so he ordered another one of the guards to have the nobleman's soul turned into a Runestone as well.

Lower Chambers

While the Band of the Scorpion traveled through the Lower Chambers, Victor and the bandits would talk more about the lack of Kendarie Warriors stationed there. After becoming trapped, the band had no choice but to go farther in, so they found themselves in an audience chamber where they met Leod VIII and several Kendarie Warriors. The Duke taunted them, then he became thrilled once he noticed that Tara's Runestone belonged to the Queen of Argwyll.

Once Leod VIII was done speaking to Tara and the bandits, he ordered the Kendarie Warriors to take her Runestone after whatever was ahead of the band killed them. He and the Kendarie Warriors left afterwards.

Ruldo Forest

After narrowly escaping the Body of the God thanks to Sol's help, Tara entered Ruldo Forest. Since the monster had killed Victor and the rest of the band besides her and Sol, the Band of the Scorpion was no more.

As Tara went through Ruldo Forest, she met a mysterious old woman who introduced herself as Gurd. Gurd could tell Tara was troubled, so she listened to what was bothering her, gave her advice, and warned her about the Kendarie's plan to invade Alanjeh, the capital of Argwyll. Tara left the forest afterwards and started on a journey to meet the Queen.

Sarvan

As Tara was at Sarvan, the bridge that led to Alanjeh, she met a Red Fairy. The fairy told her that several Kendarie Warriors had recently crossed the bridge and had locked the gates behind them.

Holzogh Town

By the time Tara reached Holzogh Town, it had been destroyed by the Kendarie, their machines, and the Body of the God. Only a few of the townspeople survived.

As Tara went through the ruined town, she met a wounded man by the fountain who needed water. Since the fountain was drained, he couldn't get a drink. He asked her to find a man named Joseph and to get the key to the fountain that he held. She found Joseph dead by what remained of a statue of Queen Katia and took his key, then went to the controls to the fountain and restored the flow of water. By the time she had returned to the fountain, the wounded man was dead. The Kendarie forces had poisoned the water supply of the town, so drinking from the fountain had killed him.

When Tara reached the end of Holzogh Town, she ran into Leod VIII, who was surprised that she survived the Body of the God. Leod VIII was accompanied by two Kendarie Warriors, and two inactive TriBlasters and a LazerBug 39K were set up behind them. Tara was about to challenge the Duke, but he knew he wouldn't stand a chance against her and the One True Runestone, so he refused to battle her. He and his guards activated the machines to distract her as they left the destroyed town, hoping to prevent her Runestone from ever reaching the Queen.

Plains of Rowahl

The Plains of Rowahl is the last place that a Kendarie Warrior makes an appearance in the story of Lost Kingdoms II. In the US and PAL versions, this soldier uses Dark Raven and Aggressor GL2 cards. In RUNE II, the Japanese version, he uses Basilisk, Jade Giant, Leprechaun, and Raflesia cards instead.

By the time Tara reaches the Plains of Rowahl, the sun was setting. There was a camp set up by the invading Kendarie forces, but most had just left for Alanjeh Castle though a large gate they had set up and locked behind them. Only one of the soldiers stayed behind in the camp, and he attacked Tara the moment he spotted her. Tara fought back, won, and took the key he had.

After fighting the Kendarie, Tara found a note on top of some wooden crates nearby. They were orders to the soldiers that bore the current date.

{| class="quote" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" style="border:1px solid white; background:#f8e9ae; tcolor:black; -moz-border-radius:7px; padding:0; margin:.5em 1em .5em 1em; width:auto" |style=color:#000; text-align:left;padding:0 10px;"| "The assault begins tomorrow. Any stragglers are to catch up with the main army at dawn. Long live Leod VIII!"
– A note written by a Kendarie officer, Plains of Rowahl

Once she had finished reading the note, she unlocked the gate with the fallen Kendarie Warrior's key. She reunited with Sol, then they both continued on their way to the castle.

Royal Tower, Lower (first mission)

During the first mission of Royal Tower, Lower, Tara and Sol were locked inside the lobby of Alanjeh Castle as the Kendarie forces were starting to lay siege to it.

Once Tara had escaped, she returned to the entrance only to find that the Kendarie had set up a device that was generating a force field around the doors, keeping entrance sealed. Seeing how she couldn't go back inside, Tara began to look for someone who knew of where her sister had gone.

Grenfoel Cathedral

Eventually, Tara reached Grenfoel Cathedral. When she talked to the survivors of the Kendarie's invasion who were taking refuge there, several of them mentioned the Kendarie Warriors.

A townsman on the floor will ask Tara if she thinks the Kendarie will spare them if they surrendered. An Alanjian Soldier shouted angrily that their war hadn't ended yet, so the Alanjian Soldiers would regroup and strike back at them.

Two other soldiers who had gotten wounded during the invasion also talked about the Kendarie. One told her that the monster the Kendarie brought with them was killing both sides and that the Kendarie were fools who had doomed everyone with it, while the other only cursed at them.

When Tara finds Rashiannu at the library, the queen became angry. She asked Tara if she came to gloat that she couldn't defeat the Kendarie. Rashiannu realized what she said had hurt Tara, so she apologized and explained why she had been so upset at her. Rashiannu asked for Tara's help afterwards, so Tara silently agreed to.

Royal Tower, Lower (after second mission)

By talking to the only Alanjian Soldier still stationed at the entrance in Royal Tower, Lower after she found the way farther into the tower, Tara found out more of the Body of the God and the fate of many Kendarie Warriors. The scout told her that the monster was nesting in the West Tower. He had seen it wipe out an entire squad of Kendarie and how it would swell in size with every kill.

Sacred Battle Arena 1

After Tara defeats the Stranger in Sacred Battle Arena 1, a Kendarie Warrior will take his place. By defeating the Kendarie Warrior after the collecting the cards of the four guardian monsters, Tara can interact with the doors in the passage behind him to finish the level and unlock Sacred Battle Arena 2.

The Kendarie Warrior in Sacred Battle Arena 1 can be fought whenever the level is visited after the Stranger there has been defeated.
