"Lower Part of the Queen's Tower"]) is a location in Lost Kingdoms II. It is the second stage taking place at Alanjeh Castle, and it has two missions. When Tara first arrives, she won't have her Runestone, but Sol will be there to fight for her.

This level changes at two points. One change takes place after the cutscenes in the old queen's bed chamber in the first mission, and the other happens once the first mission ends. Since parts of the level can't be revisited after these changes, it's recommended to make sure that all Red Fairies are collected and all chests are opened as soon as possible.

Area Progression

First Mission

Tara will not be able to use her Runestone during most of the first mission. She will have to rely on Sol to protect her once enemies appear, but she will be able to fight again during the boss battle.

The first mission will start in the lobby. A portrait of Queen Katia will be there, and a set of doors will be on each side. The doors on the right side will be locked until the second mission, so the only way to go is through the doors to the left.

The Dining Room 1

The way through the level is blocked by a gate in the dining room. To open the gate, Tara needs to take the orb on the floor and put it on one of the stands by the gate. The orb is by the stand it needs to be placed on.

Past the gate is two sets of doors. The one on the right is locked, so Tara and Sol need to go through the doors to left.

Elevator 1

The next room is a hallway that leads to the first elevator. A the hallway also contains the level's first Red Fairy and two chests. The one on the left has a Carbuncle card inside in the US and PAL versions and 500 Magic Stones in RUNE II, the Japanese version. The chest on the right has a Sprite card.

The room after the elevator is a hallway with several sets of armor, tall candles, and the second Red Fairy. The doors on the other side leads to the library of Alanjeh Castle.

Library

The library of Alanjeh Castle has bookshelves that can be interacted with. Which ones and how many that can be depends on which version of Lost Kingdoms II is being played. There is also a painting above a fireplace that can be interacted with for a short cutscene,

In the US and PAL versions, the only bookshelves that have readable books are the three small bookshelves. Tara can can be interact with them to read about the 3 gods.

In RUNE II, the small bookshelves can't be interacted with, but the larger bookshelves can be. There's more to books to read, and two of the shelves contain hidden cards. The middle bookshelf on the right side has a Man Trap card, while the second shelf closest to the fireplace has a Green Dragon card.

Old Queen's Bed Chamber

By leaving through the next set of doors, Tara and Sol will enter a staircase. The doors to the left can't be opened, and the doors facing the last set of steps lead to the old Queen's bed chamber. If Tara moves towards either the open doors or the other side of the room, a cutscene will start, and then another will play right after it.

After second cutscenes ends, the level will change. Parts that could be visited before will become inaccessible, and if the level is reentered, the starting point of the level will change to the old Queen's room.

Pillar

Tara and Sol will start to escape the castle from outside the old queen's bedchamber. They will be blocked out of the Queen's room by rubble, and the way past is blocked off by a collapsed pillar. Approaching the pillar and interacting with it will make Sol cut it in half so they can continue through the level.

Elevator 2

Past the pillar are steps and past that is the third Red Fairy and a chest containing a Tiger Mage card; both will become unobtainable once the mission ends. The next set of doors leads to an elevator that will take them down to the next area.

The Dining Room 2

The next area is another hallway. The hallway has an orb from the dining room on the floor in broken glass and the doors leading to the dining room are on the other side. The dining room gate is closed again. Past it is the fourth Red Fairy hiding in the fallen chandelier and an enemy Lazerbug39K. This time, the gate has to be lowered by placing both missing orbs on the stands. The second orb is in the upper right corner surrounded by rubble.

Past the gate is where Tara will have to deal with enemy monsters for the rest of the mission. Tara needs to distract the Mechs as Sol attacks them so he defeat them and avoid taking too much damage.

By constantly skirting around the LazerBug 39K as it moves, Tara can distract it long enough for Sol to dismantle it.

Returning to the Lobby

By taking the door to the right, Tara and Sol will end up in the lobby again. The lobby is being patrolled by an Aggressor DX5 and a LazerBug 39K. The next room to go to is through the doors on the other side of Katia's portrait, and there are there are two Aggressor DX5s inside. The room has doorways in all four corners, but the one on the lower right is blocked by rubble, while the one in the upper right leads to the water reservoir and can't be crossed until later. The only way to go is through the doors in the upper left corner.

Elevator 3

The next room is another hallway that is lined with sets of armor. It leads to the third elevator. The elevator will go up to the last part of the level.

Broken Flag Posts (optional)

When Tara and Sol get off the elevator, they will reach an area with another Aggressor DX5. Two TriBlasters are set up on a ledge by some stairs and will constantly rain down projectiles. By going up the steps to the ledge and interacting with the two broken flag posts, Tara can destroy the TriBlasters.

Separation

Once Tara and Sol approach the end of the level, one of two cutscenes will start. The cutscene that plays depends on whether or not Tara has the Stone of Sealing. Tara will be separated from Sol and the boss battle will start after the cutscene, but she will get her Runestone back.

Boss Battle

lk2 royal tower, lower lazerbug 39k bosses.png For the boss battle of Royal Tower, Lower, Tara will have to fight two LazerBug 39Ks.

The first mission will end once the bosses are destroyed. After this part of the mission, two more parts of the level found during it, the area between the old Queen's bed chamber and the elevator past it, and the area where the boss battle takes place will become impossible to return to.

Second Mission

After Tara escapes with her Runestone in the first mission, the starting point of the level will change to the castle entrance. The doors to the entrance will be sealed by a Kendarie device. Additionally, Alanjian Warriors will be stationed nearby, and the fifth Red Fairy will be hiding in rubble by the dirt path.

Tara won't be able to complete the second mission until she can open the doors.

Unlocking Krasheen Mountains

To unlock the next level, the Krasheen Mountains, Tara has to speak to an NPC who knows where Rashiannu went. One of them is an Alanjian Soldier at the entrance in Royal Tower, Lower. The two other NPCs who know where the queen went are townsmen. One is on the crossroads past the town gates of Kadishu, and the other will on the road by the Blind Old Man in Holzogh Town until Tara finds out where to go.

In RUNE II, talking to the Holzogh Town NPC is the only way to unlock the level.

Sealed Doors

The doors leading to the castle are blocked off by four orbs generating a forcefield.  The doors must be opened by weakening each of the orbs to 1 HP at the same time.  Although the intended method for doing this was for the player to find the God of Destruction card and use its Final Judgment skill on the orbs, they can be taken out other ways with many other cards.

Once Tara takes out the orbs, the gates to the entrance lobby will open. The left doorway leads to the dining room, but the gate is sealed shut and can't be opened. The doorway on the right leads to what areas are left that Tara can visit.

Water Reservoir (optional)

By going through the upper left doorway in the room through the doors on the right side of the lobby, Tara will find the castle's water reservoir. By using a flying Transform type card, she can go across the water and collect the sixth and final Red Fairy of the level and open two chests. The chest in the left corner contains a Puppet Master card, while the chest in the right has 1000 Magic Stones.

Returning to the Roof

Going through the doors in the upper right corner of the room through the doorway on the right side of the lobby will take Tara back to the third elevator. By using it, she can return to the portion of the roof and the end of the level.

Platforms (optional)

lk2 royal tower, lower ledge chests.png The platforms by the exit each lead to a chest. They can both be traversed by using a jumping Transform type card with a high jump. The first set of platforms leads to a chest containing a Decoy Pillar card, while the second depends on what version of the game is being played. The second platform has a red chest with a Fire Gargoyle card in it in the US and PAL versions, while it has a blue chest with the Riz's Memory Music Card in RUNE II.

End of Second Mission

Going through the doors by the elevator Sol broke will end the second mission and unlock the next level.

Spoilers
