map high road.jpg Bhashea High Road is the second location in Lost Kingdoms II, and it is found in the region of Bhashea.

Throughout the level, the player will be given a tutorial about different game mechanics. The first time the player comes here the Band of the Scorpion will be there.

Appearance

Bhashea High Road is a dirt road by the sea, near the ruins of Bhashea Castle. A few bushes and leafless trees are on the path, and the mossy trunk of a large tree can be found next to a rail on a cliff overlooking the sea. What used to be a house can be found the end of the level.

Some of the exterior of Bhashea Castle can be explored from the high road. The entrance of the castle is lined with broken pillars and statues of men and women. Two bridges are also on the road, but the one leading to the castle is damaged and can't be crossed without a Jumping or Flying Transform type card.

The Bhashea High Road level takes place on either on a cloudy morning or early afternoon.

Summary

Bhashea High Road is a path leading to the town of Kadishu. It was once the way to travel to Bhashea Castle, but the Kingdom of Bhashea fell to the Black Fog 200 years ago, so the bridge leading to the castle ruins was left in disrepair.

When Tara first arrived here, she was with the Band of the Scorpion after they successfully robbed the Nobleman’s Residence. She progressed to the end of the high road, where she encountered two Storm Hagans. She fought the ogres and won, which allowed her to reach the town of Kadishu.

While in Kadishu, Tara talked to a man who told her of how the Kendarie were planning to stop the Band of the Scorpion, so she rushed back to Bhashea High Road to save them. Sol teamed up with her as soon as she entered Bhashea High Road, and they fought and defeated the Kendarie Warriors.

After the defeat of the Kendarie Warriors, Victor vowed to find out where the Kendarie's Runestones are made and to take every last one of them. The Band of the Scorpion left Bhashea High Road to reach their next destination: Kendarie Fortress.

Area Progression

First Mission

?

Any other visits to this level after the first mission is cleared will start the level where it ended during that mission.

Break the Cart (optional)

Note: RUNE II exclusive

In RUNE II, the Japanese version of Lost Kingdoms II, there is a card hidden under the breakable cart where the Band of the Scorpion have made their camp. Destroying it during the first mission will allow Tara to collect a hidden Mummy card.

If the cart remains intact by the time the second mission starts, the cart will be destroyed, but its remnants will still be there, making it impossible to collect the card underneath it.

Bandit Challenge (optional)

A member of the Band of the Scorpion by the river will challenge Tara to throw a card over to the bank on the other side. Tara will receive an Elephant card from the bandit after throwing an Independent or Helper type card across the bank, and then talking to him again.

If this card is not collected before the second mission of Bhashea High Road, it will be impossible to collect it, as the Band of the Scorpion will be hiding from the Kendarie during it, then move to the next level in the main story afterwards.

Unlocking Kadishu

Tara must reach the end of Bhashea High Road to finish the first mission, but two Storm Hagans are found close by. Defeating the Storm Hagans will end the first mission and unlock the town of Kadishu.

Second Mission

?

Sol

Sol appears after Tara returns to rescue the Band of the Scorpion. He will fight alongside Tara until the mission has been completed.

Kendarie Warriors

Several Kendarie Warriors will attack Tara and Sol on their way to the Band of the Scorpion. Two will be fought during the boss fight of the second mission.

Other Visits (optional)

The Band of the Scorpion will no longer be here after the second mission.

Broken Bridge

The Bridge leading to Bhashea Castle is broken, so Tara can't cross it until she obtains a Jumping or Flying Transform type card.

Lowering Gates

Two gates block the way to the castle, but they can be lowered by using the magic circles. While Tara can lower the gates herself, leaving the circles will cause them to raise again. Throwing slow or immobile Independent or Helper type cards on the circles, or waiting for an enemy to step on one will allow Tara to progress.

Unlocking Bhashea Castle

After going past the last gate, a boss battle with a Chaos Knight, a Man Trap, and a Storm Hagan will be triggered. Defeating them will complete the last mission and unlock Bhashea Castle.

This optional mission can be repeated at anytime, so both this boss battle and the Level Bonus for Bhashea High Road will always be available. Being able to trigger the optional boss fight more than once makes it a good place to capture Chaos Knights.

Other Side of the Bank

There is a chest on the other side of the bank from where the bandit with the challenge was. By using a Jumping or Flying type Transform card, Tara can reach the other side and open the chest. Inside the chest is a Golden Porcupig card.

Broken Spire

There is a chest containing a Water Moray card in a broken spire by the castle entrance, but it is impossible to reach on foot, as it is surrounded by water. Tara must return with a Flying type Transform card to reach it.

Trivia

  • Triggering the optional boss battle of Bhashea High Road will not play the theme for it in Lost Kingdoms II. However, in RUNE II, the Japanese version, it will.
  • The broken statues of men and women by the entrance of Bhashea Castle use the same poses of the statues in Lost Kingdoms at the Bridge of Sarvan and at Lake Bestriel.
  • Bhashea High Road is one of three levels in Lost Kingdoms II where the entrance to the level will change after completing the first mission. The other levels that do this are Holzogh Town and Royal Tower, Lower.
