{{Card_Template}}The Decoy Pillar (Japanese: デススタチュー, Death Statue) is a Fire attribute creature and an Independent type card introduced in Lost Kingdoms. It is a somewhat-rare monster that does not attack.

Appearance

The Decoy Pillar is an apparently-sentient, tower of blocks balancing on a skull. The card's artwork depicts flames though these aren't always visible in-game.

Obtainability

  • By transforming a Sand Golem card with 2100 EXP
  • By receiving it as a reward in Lumsted. Obtained by winning 32 or more battles before cleansing the 4th well.
  • By transforming a Golden Goose card with 2000 EXP
  • By transforming a Caterpoker card with 5000 EXP
  • By copying one using 3500 EXP

Strategies

The Decoy Pillar is exactly that, it is meant to act as Decoy. It never attacks, but it's ability Decoy Action forces enemies to attack it.

As a Card

The Decoy Pillar's Decoy Action ability can be fantastic when setting up basic combos, or even just finding breathing room. It's low cost makes it easy to set up multiple times if needed.

Besides not attacking by itself, the Decoy Pillar has two main flaws: one is that it is a Fire attribute monster, and the other is, as a consequence of Decoy Action, boss fights tend to wear it down rather quickly.

As a Monster

The Decoy Pillar does not appear as an enemy monster.

Trivia

  • This monster is the only Decoy monster to never appear as an enemy.
  • Eight Decoy Pillars are used as decorations in Broch Black: four in the room in front of the level's entrance, and four in the room before the Dragon's Mouth. They can't be interacted with and won't effect any battles.
  • While the Decoy Pillar is a Fire attribute creature in Lost Kingdoms, its card appears to be Neutral in the credits. Later on, the Decoy Pillar would change attributes from Fire to Neutral in Lost Kingdoms II.

The Decoy Pillar can also be used in the Rotary Death combo. It uses one Decoy Pillar card and one Carbuncle card, and requires six Magic Stones to activate. The Decoy Pillar attracts enemies while the Carbuncle spins around it, hitting those that get too close.
