Good, then let's be off. You're not exactly the most fearsome warrior in the Kingdom... I don't suppose you have a burly brother stashed away somewhere? So be it. Even the ugliest oyster may contain a beautiful pearl... Although you look more like the pearl than the oyster... Who am I, you ask? I am the only person that can teach you how to use those cards you found in the Treasury. You'd better come with me if you want to stay alive! Come now, my cute little Guardian of the Covenant... You just leave everything up to old Gurd."

You have much to learn, Your Highness...
The Guardians of the Runestone are given the power to command monsters, through the Cards of Power.
That power is the only chance we have of defeating the evil loosed upon the world.
Whether you like it or not, you must stand up and fight!
First, you will have to learn how to control the monsters. I will teach you the way of the cards.
This place is full of goblins... And that makes it the perfect place to start your training.
Are you ready? I don't give fancy lectures. You'll figure it out once you see those goblins coming."

You can't just go around using cards willy-nilly and expect to survive. You must think about attributes.
I'm only going to explain this once, so listen closely:
There are five monster attributes: Fire, Water, Wood, Earth, and Neutral.
Fire beats Wood, Wood beats Earth, Earth beats Water, and Water beats Fire.
Neutral-type creatures are very rare. They aren't affected by attributes at all.
Ignore monster attributes at your peril! Don't come crying to me when you run out of cards!
Furthermore, during a battle, a 'Type' icon is displayed on each card.
Weapon type creatures will display the Sword icon, Summons type creatures will have the Dragon icon, while Independent type creatures will use the Spell icon."

You've made it this far, and that means you've learned at least the basics of card handling.
I am called Gurd, and this is my shop. You have seen the Black Fog and the monsters that dwell within.
All of Argwyll will fall unless the fog is stopped. And only a Runestone-bearer can hope to defeat it.
Which means, my dear, that it is up to you. I wish it was your father I was telling this to...
But come... I'll wager there's more to you than just pretty dresses and fancy jewelry.
King Feobane is on his way to meet with King Zelnan. I believe the goal is to work out a shared strategy.
Your father does not have a Runestone, and that means that he cannot defeat the enemy he faces now.
If you are going to catch up to your father, you must start your search in Blessoon.
I will be here, tending to my shop. Stop by anytime... I've got all the cards you could want."

But... if the damage is enough to finish off the enemy, you will seal that enemy into a card.
If you successfully trap an enemy in a card, that card will be in your deck for your use.
I should warn you that the Capture Throw won't work on every enemy you face.

You wouldn't let a few snowballs bother you, would you Princess?
These are the herbs I need: Fruit of Mandragora, Bark of Treant, and Man Trap Leaf.

Of course he was wrong. Now the village is covered in a white fog, and, it comes with monsters of its own!
Well, that was the end of the village. The people fled to the hills...
That village needs your help. What say you, your Highness?

I found an ancient scroll from a pagan religion...
According to the scroll, the Enchanter was a name given to a king. The title was inherited.
But no king in Argwyll has ever used that title. That means there is another world out there...
The scroll talks about five Runestones... Just as there are five Runestones in our world.
But then it says that a person owning all five Runestones will receive a great power.
The power guarded by the Runestones, apparently. But who knows what the real truth is?
I do know that you already have four Runestones...
There's only one thing for you to do: You must go to the Coliseum."

Interesting...
Can you remember what your father said? Did he say that the Power was sleeping in the Temple?
He could only have meant the Temple of Ruh-Arok. That temple has stood since the beginning of time.
The way to the Temple passes through the lava pits of Mt. Jarndunn. That is your next destination.
...So, the Enchanter is still alive. And he's after Argwyll... And you, apparently.
Remember this, Princess. It is not evil to possess power. It's what you do with the power that counts."

Welcome to the Sacred Battle Arena.
Here of old were the Runestone masters trained. Here you can fight history's greatest heroes and deadliest monsters.
Tara Grimface, are you ready to become a true Runestone master?"

Very odd creatures they are. They wear masks. Presumably, they believe it leads to "enlightenment".
One of those unsavory fellows has come here. I don't like them sneaking around my home.
I think he's in one of the inner rooms. Who knows what mischief he's up to... Would you mind getting rid of him for me?"

The Isamat Urbur fellow turned into a Runestone when you defeated hm?
That's very odd... Only the ancient gods had the power to make Runestones... Or so I thought.
In any case, you have my thanks for getting rid of him. Let me see...
Ah, here we go. This was dropped by that Isamat Urbur fellow. I don't know what it does, but maybe you'll find a use for it..."

You may have heard this already, but that beast is a remnant of the God of Harmony.
After sealing the gods of Creation and Destruction into Runestones, the God of Harmony became a wall of light, dividing the world in two.
When the God of Harmony did that, it left behind it's body. The Kendarie evidently stumbled over it and tried to take advantage of it.
I know these things because I myself am born from the God of Harmony.
Hard to believe, eh? When the God of Harmony gave its life to become the Great Dividing Wall, I came into this world."
