A single Sand Worm can be found as a powerful regular enemy in Gromtull Desert.

In RUNE II, the Japanese version of Lost Kingdoms II, instead of there only being one Sand Worm in Gromtull Desert, there are five. Defeating each of the five Sand Worms is the goal for a side quest and a repeatable optional mission; both of which are exclusive to RUNE II.

  • By choosing one in the Level Bonus for Gromtull Desert. Only 1 Sand Worm card is available. This Level Bonus can only be accessed once in the US and PAL versions, but it is always accessible in RUNE II, the Japanese version, through a repeatable optional mission.
  • By capturing one in Gromtull Desert
  • By upgrading a Caterpoker card with 17000 EXP
  • By importing cards from a Lost Kingdoms save file after clearing Sacred Battle Arena 2. The option to do this can only be taken once.
  • By copying one using 15000 EXP
