As the translation of the Japanese name is unofficial, it may contain errors.coliseum map.jpg The Coliseum (Japanese: コロシアム, Coliseum) is a location in Lost Kingdoms.

In-game location description: "Many are the warriors who have fought and died in this arena. Only the victor will leave the Coliseum alive."

The Coliseum is an area that serves the sole purpose of housing an arena for the boss fight with Helena. Katia cannot freely roam this area outside of the boss fight encounter.

Appearance

colisuem.pngAs the name would entail, the Coliseum is a coliseum. Similarly to that of the Roman coliseum, it has a broken-down look to the arena. The entirety of the structure is built from brownish-red colored bricks.

Helena described the Coliseum as "Old".{| class="quote" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" style="border:1px solid white; background:#f8e9ae; tcolor:black; -moz-border-radius:7px; padding:0; margin:.5em 1em .5em 1em; width:auto" |style=color:#000; text-align:left;padding:0 10px;"| "I have the Runestone of Bhashea. If you want it, come to the old Coliseum!!"
– Helena, Grenfoel Church

Summary

During the later portion of the first game, Katia headed towards the Coliseum to confront Helena. After a brief exchange, Helena challenges Katia to a duel with the intent of taking her Runestone.

Although Helena was noticeably stronger than she was during their previous encounter at Castle Grayl, She was no match for Katia. After Katia defeated Helena, it is revealed by Helena that she is in search of Katia's Runestone so she would be able to become powerful enough to save her own continent. After their exchange, Helena assumably died from the damage inflicted on her during the battle, leaving the stolen Runestone from Bhashea for Katia to take. Afterward, Katia went to the throne of the Coliseum to rescue Prince Henry. The prince revealed that Helena was a good person.

Trivia

  • While the Coliseum cannot be explored, it does have a map. This map can be seen at two points: the first is after the first cutscene, and the second is when the battle results are displayed.
  • Although hard to see in-game, several of the walls of the Coliseum have engravings.
