The Lower Chambers (Japanese: 鍵精製場地下, かぎせいせいじょうちか, Kagi Seiseijou Chika [lit. "Key Refinery Underground"])is a location in Lost Kingdoms II that is found within the region of Kendaria. It is the last level that takes place in the Runestone Caverns, and is the sixth location visited in the main story.
Appearance
The Lower Chambers of the Runestone Caverns are mostly composed of narrow passages filled with ancient stonework and several small rooms. Most of the stonework in the tunnels has crumbled away, but a few pillars remain standing. In the third-to-last room is a large amount of Kendarie Runestones, some of which are gathered in what appears to be rusted MechaPult parts.
Further on in are the last two rooms, which are gigantic and have most of their masonry intact. The paths of these rooms are very wide and have deep pits on both sides. The paths are made of gray stones in the center and blue stones on thier edges. The walls of these rooms have several small stone passageways high up, lit torches lower down, and giant statues of humanoid figures with inhuman heads placed in niches with runes carved on their borders. There is also a large, more decorated passageway in the middle of a wall in the second-to-last room that can be used to make the room function as an audiance chamber.
Summary
After Tara broke the iron gate in the Upper Chambers by using the Stone Golem card given to her by Sol, she, Victor, and all other surviving members of the Band of the Scorpion besides Sol went farther into the Runestone Caverns and reached the Lower Chambers. Despite the Runestone Caverns being the place where the Kendarians get their Runestones from, not many were found by the bandits so far, and neither was any mining equipment. Due to the lack of Runestones, the deeper in they went, the more frustrated Victor became.
Leod VII began to taunt the Band of the Scorpion, but then he noticed that Tara had the Queen's Runestone, a Runestone much more powerful than the Kendarie Runestones. Leod became thrilled and started plotting to take over Argwyll, hoping that they would all die and he would be able to take Tara's Runestone as his own. After Leod ordered his guards to retrieve Tara's Runestone later, both he and his guards left, leaving Tara, Victor, and the two bandits no choice but to continue through the caverns. Once they reached the last room, Victor and the two bandits both had their souls stolen by more pink lights. Tara tried to wake up Victor afterwards, but it was too late. His soul being stolen had killed him, just like the bandits whose souls were stolen before him, and the Band of the Scorpion was no more. She heard a noise behind her, slowly turned around, and saw both the source of the noise and the soul-stealing pink lights: the Body of the God.
Tara fought a long battle with the Body of the God. She became exhausted and almost got crushed by one of its hands, but Sol finally arrived and pulled her out of the way just in time. Then the monster used both its hands to try killing them both, but Tara and Sol dodged it. The path between them was broken in two by the force of the attack, so they were separated again. Tara was told by Sol to watch out for the Kendarians, because they wanted her Runestone and Leod would never stop chasing her for it. After this, Tara escaped the Runestone Caverns and entered Ruldo Forest.

Pink Lights
There are stage hazards in the form of harmful pink lights in the Lower Chambers. A few of these will disappear in one spot, then reappear in another. If Tara or any friendly creature touches one, these pink lights will slowly cause damage for a short period of time, so it's best to avoid them.
Water Level (optional)
There is a sluice gate in the Upper Chambers whose position will alter the water levels in the room past the second tunnel in the Lower Chambers. By leaving the sluice gate up, this room will be flooded. By closing it, the water will be drained away. A switch nearby the sluice gate will allow Tara to change its position.
This switch controlling the the sluice gate can be interacted with at anytime, so choosing one option will not lock Tara out of choosing the other. If the switch in the Upper Chambers was not interacted with before entering the Lower Chambers, the room will remain flooded.
Two chests can be reached with the gate up, but a chest containing a Maelstrom card cannot be accessed without having a jumping or flying Transform type card. The other chest, which contains a Yowie card, is reached by stepping over a line of floating crates.
Lowering the sluice gate will allow Tara to go down the stairs in this room and find both a Red Fairy and a chest that contains another Maelstrom card.

Trivia
- The map for the Lower Chambers in the Brady Games Lost Kingdoms II Official Strategy Guide is slightly different than the map used in-game. The version of the map used in this guidebook shows the walls of last two rooms, while the texture used for the map in-game does not.
- If intending to complete as much of the Lower Chambers map as possible, the room the boss is fought in must be filled in before the boss has been defeated, as this room will be inaccessible once the mission ends.
- The model for one of the two Fellow Bandits in the final room of the Lower Chambers was placed incorrectly in the US version of Lost Kingdoms II. The position of the model in this version has the bandit's face stuck in the ground while the rest of him floats above it at an acute angle.
