Yowies can be found as enemies in the Lower Chambers of the Runestone Caverns.

- By capturing one in the Lower Chambers
- By opening a chest in the Lower Chambers. Found past a path of floating wooden crates in the room after the 2nd tunnel. This chest can only be reached when the sluice gate in the Upper Chambers is raised.
- By choosing one in the Level Bonus for the Lower Chambers. 2 are available in the US and PAL versions while 3 are available in RUNE II, the Japanese version. This Level Bonus can only be accessed once.
- By copying one using 1000 EXP
