  • By opening a chest in Gromtull Desert. Found in the right chest in row of two in the level corner closest to the sealed cave.
  • By collecting a hidden card in Gromtull Desert. Found on the ground under the farthest of three stone arches near the sealed cave.
  • By choosing the card in the Level Bonus for Gromtull Desert. Two Sand Beetle cards are available.
  • By opening a chest at Rohbach. Found in a the right chest in a row of two by the level's exit.
  • By copying one using 1500 EXP

Strategies

The Sand Beetle attacks by biting its mandibles at opponents. Like the Land Shark, the Sand Beetle is able to go underground making it hard to hit.

  • By capturing one in Gromtull Desert
  • By opening a chest in Gromtull Desert, but only in the US and PAL versions. Found in the chest at the end of the cave by the oasis. This card was replaced with 200 Magic Stones in RUNE II, the Japanese version.
  • By finding a hidden card in Gromtull Desert, but only in RUNE II. Found under the human skeleton closest to the chests in the back of the cave by the oasis.
  • By choosing one from the Level Bonus for Gromtull Desert. 2 Sand Beetle cards are available. In the US and PAL versions, this Level Bonus can only be accessed once, but in RUNE II, it can be accessed again through a repeatable optional mission.
  • By upgrading a Yowie card using 3000 EXP
  • By importing cards from a Lost Kingdoms save file after clearing Sacred Battle Arena 2. The option to do this can only be taken once.
  • By copying one using 6000 EXP
