lk2 isamat urbur icon.png Isamat Urbur (Japanese: イサマト ウブン, Isamat Ubun) is an optional location in Lost Kingdoms II on an island in the Bhashea region.

Spoilers
Although Isamat Urbur can be completed at any time, doing so before clearing the Alanjeh Castle level is required to unlock the good ending.

Appearance

The outside of Isamat Urbur is only shown in a level icon on the world map. It appears to be a purple tower with a giant glowing egg-shaped object on top of it. The level itself takes place indoors.

The hallways of Isamat Urbur have several sets of odd rings with glyphs floating in the air. The space inside the rings forms purple bubbles, and these bubbles form statues of bald heads whose mouths slowly open and close. Both the bubbles and the heads appear, disappear, then reappear, but the rings never vanish.

The left room has a few cupboards and has bookshelves filled with books resembling some of Jarvi's. The first room to the right is empty, but the room after that has several chests and a lever that can raise and lower the gate at its entrance.

The very center of the level is a room with rippling metallic walls. The floor not in the center is mostly dirt or sand with a few giant stone faces partially buried in it. Several Runestone altars surround the central platform. These altars are held up by the fingers of giant bald headed statues whose eyes glow white when a Stranger's Runestone is offered to them. Each of the heads have horn-like structures growing out of them that end their own large, glowing and rippling purple egg-shaped object.

In the middle of this platform is are several rocks, one of which is a large obelisk with glowing glyphs on it. Surrounding this are several more glowing egg-shaped objects embedded into the floor. Giant veins go through the dirt floors and into the ceiling, as if the tower itself is alive.

In farthest room are raised steps leading to what looks like a heart with a face with veins growing out of the top and the back of it. This heart with a face also has hands that hold fleshy orbs with arms. Before completing the level, each of these orbs hold a necklace: the red one held by the orb in the heart's left hand is the Stone of Sealing and the purple necklace held by the orb in the right has no known name. Around the steps are several odd pillars; these have their own faces similar to the heart.

Area Progression

How to Unlock

To unlock this stage, the player must do several things in this order:

  1. Revisit Ruldo Forest after clearing it the first time.
  2. Go to the area past where Gurd was and defeat the three Cockatrices that appear there to clear the side mission.
  3. Enter the newly unlocked Sacred Battle Arena 1 and talk to Gurd twice.
  4. Defeat the Stranger in the room directly behind Gurd.
  5. Talk to Gurd again to receive the Strange Key. (If the Stranger is defeated before Gurd can ask Tara about dealing with him, the key can still be obtained, but Tara will have to hear all of Gurd's dialogue first.)
  6. Go to the Nobleman's Residence. The doors that were sealed there previously can now be opened.
  7. Reach the final room in the central wing of the Nobleman's Residence and interact with the map found on the table. This will unlock Isamat Urbur.

Defeating the Strangers

To complete this level, all eight of the Strangers must be killed to collect their Runestones. When the Runestones have been gathered, they must be placed on each of the alters in the central room. Doing this will unlock the doors leading to the final room where the Stone of Sealing can be obtained.

Stranger Locations

The locations of the Strangers and the names of their Runestones are listed here, with the names of the Runestones linking to the wielder's page.

Entrance

At the entrance is a room with the level's first Red Fairy. Once Tara opens the doors, she can go straight ahead to the central room to the left to find a room with a Stranger, to the right to find two rooms (with the latter containing treasure), or turn back and open the doors there to return to the World Map.

Altars

lk2 isamat urbur obelisk.png Each of the Runestones belonging to the enemy Strangers must be brought to the altars in the central room. Interacting with an altar while the correct Runestone is in Tara's possession will place it there, which will cause a flame to be lit inside the mouth of the altar's statue, and the eyes of the statue will glow white.

Collecting all eight of the Runestones and placing them on each of the altars will start a cutscene showing the sealed doors leading to the end of the level begin to open. After this cutscene, Tara can progress to the end of the level, but it will also cause several enemies to spawn in the central room.

Isamat Urbur Stranger

One of the Strangers can be found and battled in the left room in this level. Defeating him will automatically give Tara the Nebeth Runestone.

The Stranger in Isamat Urbur has ? HP and ? Defense. He can use Charadrius, Demon Skeleton, Napalm Beast, Pixie, and Vampire cards. The Demon Skeletons, Napalm Beasts, and Pixies he summons can be caught.

...

Past the Stranger's room is the second Red Fairy. If she continues down the hallway, she will find two sets of doors. These doors will be sealed until all the Runestones of the Strangers have been placed on their altars. If she continues down the hallway, she will find another Red Fairy and another set of doors that leads to two more rooms.

Treasure Room (optional)

On the right of this level is a room leading to another with six treasure chests. The first of these rooms has the level's fourth and final Red Fairy, while the entrance to the latter is fenced off by a gate, but it will lower as Tara approaches. If she goes past where the gate was, it will trap her inside and a Puppet Master and two Devatas will appear. To escape the room and continue exploring the level, Tara will have to interact with the switch in the back of the room.

In the left row of chests is a Green Dragon card in the US version or a Brine Dragon card in RUNE II, the Japanese version, 550 Magic Stones, and a Succubus card. In the right row is 1240 Magic Stones, an Incubus card, and 10 Magic Stones.

Stone of Sealing

lk2 isamat urbur face.png After placing the Runestones of the eight Strangers on all of the alters, all Tara has to do to complete the mission is to go to end of the room past the sealed door.

Approaching the strange heart-like object with a face will show another cutscene. Several Strangers will approach a purple necklace being held by an orb in the heart's hand. They will speak to themselves as they touch this necklace and get absorbed into their Runestones, and then these Runestones will fly away to an unknown location. Afterwards, Tara collects the object held by the other orb: the necklace known as the Stone of Sealing.

The mission of Isamat Urbur will be completed once the Stone of Sealing has been collected.

Revisiting (optional)

If Tara revisits the level, she can encounter more enemies than before. Devatas and Puppet Masters will spawn in the central room if she approaches the obelisk. Another Puppet Master along with several Juggernauts, an enemy not present during the first mission, will appear where the Stranger was. Approaching the doors to the heart altar will spawn another Devata. Inside the room with the heart altar will be two more Devatas, and two Juggernauts and a Puppet Master will appear there as well if Tara goes up the stairs.

There is only one mission for Isamat Urbur, so the only things Tara can do here after the mission are fighting and/or capturing monsters, or collecting any Red Fairies or opening any chests she may have missed before completing the level.
