{{Card_Template}}
The Devata (Japanese: デヴァーター, Devata) is a Neutral attribute creature and a Transform type card introduced in Lost Kingdoms II.
Devatas only appear as an enemy in Isamat Urbur. They are found in the farthest room to the right. They can be also found in the room with the obelisk and Runestone altars after clearing the level.
Appearance
The Devata is a floating monster with a disjointed head and body, covered by a blue hood.
Obtainability
- By solving the Sarvan bridge puzzle in the US version.
- By choosing its card in the Level Bonus for Isamat Urbur. Up to three Devata cards are available. This Level Bonus can only be accessed once.
- By upgrading a CircaSaurus card with 10000 EXP.
- By copying one using 15000 EXP.
Strategies
The Devata is a stealthy creature that hides underground. It is impossible to damage one while it is hidden. However, it becomes vulnerable right before, during, and just after attacking. It is also fragile, as it has no defense.
The Devata's Ice Assault is a long range attack that causes it to shoot an ice shard out of its urn body, while the Shadow Jack move is much shorter range and makes it quickly ram its urn into enemies.
As a Card
The Devata card is very useful for exploring and avoiding enemies when you are low on health or are under-leveled. It is especially useful in the Proving Grounds, as it has many powerful enemies. However, since the Devata is a Neutral attribute creature, it will most likely be too expensive for most players to use right away, and it is a bit of a glass cannon due to its non-existent defense and vulnerability period.
The Ice Assault skill is great for defeating enemy monsters at a distance. It is incredibly useful when fighting the Emperor, as being hit with this ability will stun him, preventing him from attacking. Being the right distance away from him and constantly using Ice Assault will make the fight with him trivial, as he can be defeated without attacking Tara at all.
The Shadow Jack skill is...
The Devata card has the Power Transformer secondary typing, so it can destroy some large obstacles after being powered up. During its powered up state, it will stay above ground. When it moves, it will constantly spin, hitting enemies that get too close. While it is idle, it will float in place and constantly flicker.
While the Devata is a very useful card, it is not recommended to use one in its powered up state for several reasons: a few large obstacles can only be broken when using the Stone Golem card, the Devata's powered up state will not last very long, and it stays above ground as long as it is powered up, making it much easier to be hit by enemies.
As a Monster
Despite being hidden below ground, Devatas can still be found easily using the lock-on ability of Tara's Lupian Butterfly and by listening to the sounds they make as they move. They are easy to defeat because of their low defense and their vulnerability period before, during, and after they attack. Using fast-moving cards like Weapon types against Devatas is recommended, as they will only be vulnerable for a short time.

Trivia
- Devata's design stems from Ritualist, an enemy in Evergrace, another RPG developed by Fromsoftware in 2000. Atsushi Taniguchi, the producer of both Lost Kingdoms, worked on enemy models for the game. It shares this characteristic with the Jade Giant and the Beaker.
- Devata is a Sanskrit term for a lesser deity.
