Strategies

As a Card

The only move worth using the Emperor card for is the Imperial Blade attack, but it is more useful in VS Mode than in the single player campaign. This attack will wipe all cards of one of the four main attributes (Fire, Water, Earth, or Wood) from both the deck of the user and the rival player and will damage and may instantly kill enemy monsters if they have the same attribute. When using this skill, the afterimage trailing the Emperor's sword will match the color of the attribute that will be effected.

The Dragon Knots attack can capture multiple monsters at once if they are hit by it without needing to weaken them, but the Emperor card used will be permanently lost in exchange for what was caught. It is better to use a Capture Card when trying to catch enemy monsters than to have to clear the last level of Proving Grounds again, as obtaining another Emperor card is not guaranteed.

The Emperor card cannot be used in Two Player Fair Play.

As a Monster

The Emperor has two deadly attacks. His Shaolin Glory attack may have a wide radius, but it can be dodged by running far enough away from it. His Imperial Blade attack is the most dangerous.

The Imperial Blade attack can wipe out the player's entire deck if there are no Mech or Neutral cards in it, as every hit from this will remove all cards of either the Earth, Fire, Water, or Wood attributes. This attack's build-up also pulls the player towards him, so running from it is not advised. When the Emperor is about to use this offensive skill, he has to be hit before he can finish it's animation by using either a Weapon or Transform type card, preferably one that has a long ranged attack like a Banshee's. This will stop him from taking both a chunk of the player's deck and Hit Points. Both Independent and Helper type cards are too risky to use in the fight against the Emperor, especially if they are any attribute other than Neutral or Mech.

The Emperor is a difficult to beat foe, but one way to deal with him is to use the Devata card's Ice Assault attack. If timed well and at the right distance, the player can keep hitting the Emperor with this and prevent him from using both of his own. And since the Devata is a Neutral attribute card, the Emperor can't remove it from the player's deck with his Imperial Blade attack like he would with the those of the main attributes.

Profile Descriptions

Card Profile

"The Imperial Blade attack eliminates 1 of the 4 main attributes. All creatures and cards of the chosen attribute will be sacrificed, friend and foe alike. Dragon Knots will capture any enemy creature. The new card will then take the Emperor card's place in your deck."

Monster Profile

"A legendary figure said to be the ruler of the Four Sacred Beasts. It is believed he can pick one of the four attributes, and wipe out all cards possessing the doomed attribute."
