This page refers to the card shops from Lost Kingdoms II, places where Tara can buy, sell, copy, or upgrade cards. For the equivalent of a card shop in the original Lost Kingdoms game, see Apothecary.
The translation of the Japanese name is unofficial, so it may contain errors.
A Card Shop (Japanese: カードショップ, Card Shop) is a type of location in Lost Kingdoms II. These shops, like the Apothecary from Lost Kingdoms, are places where cards can be bought, sold, copied, and/or upgraded into other cards. However, unlike the Apothecary, Tara cannot speak to their shopkeepers.
There are two card shops: the one in the town of Kadishu, and the other inside the Grenfoel Cathedral. They are both named "Card Shop".
Usage
Card Shops have multiple functions that Tara can use.
Buy/Sell Card
The range of cards Tara can buy is limited, with the exact choice dependent on what levels have been completed thus far. Upon completion of the game, Tara can buy any card that was previously seen in the shop.
Tara can also Sell cards though this is only advised if the player is desperate for money, asGold has little use outside of the card shops. However, it can be useful to buy Capture Cards that can be of great use. It is also possible to sell all of a single type of card making it impossible to reacquire.
While all cards in Lost Kingdoms can be sold, several cards in Lost Kingdoms II cannot be.
Upgrade Card
Tara can useExperience Points to upgrade an individual card into another one. This will get rid of the original but give you one of the new upgraded cards. Whilst many cards have multiple choices, some stronger monsters can only upgrade into one other monster. Additionally, several cards, such as all those that have the Mech attribute, cannot be upgraded at all.
Upgrading a card is often harder then copying as more experience is generally needed. The cost of the service is paid in the experience of the card.
Copy Card
Copying a card does exactly what it says; Tara can make a duplicate of a card. This can be handy for gaining additional copies of a preferred card the player likes. This service requires cards to reach a requisite experience amount and that experience is depleted when the card is copied.
While all cards could be copied in the first game, not all can be in Lost Kingdoms II.
In RUNE II, the Japanese version, most of the cards that couldn't be copied in the US and PAL versions can be. The only ones that are uncopyable in RUNE II are the Capture Card and the Music Cards exclusive to that version of the game.
Shop Info
Kadishu
The Kadishu Card Shop is the first of the card shops Tara can visit. During the events of the story, it will have one of three different selections of cards. This shop's inventory will not change to match the Cathedral's once the latter has been visited. However, it will change to include all purchasable cards of both shops once the story has been completed.

Grenfoel Cathedral

Trivia
- In RUNE II, the Japanese version of Lost Kingdoms II, the ability to upgrade and copy cards was combined into one button instead of two separate ones. When a card is selected using this, the copy price of the card is the first option available and is displayed with the back of the card. What a card can be upgraded into (if it can be upgraded) is listed afterwards.
