{{Card_Template}}The Doppelganger (Japanese: ドッパルゲンガー, Doppelganger) is a Neutral attribute creature and an Independent type card introduced in Lost Kingdoms. It is one of the rarest and hardest cards to obtain.

It is never found in the wild, and the only way to get it is to transform the God of Destruction or one of the four Sacred Beasts into it for 9999 Experience. It is also offered by Alexander for gathering 100 Red Fairies.

Appearance

Like the Unicorn, the Doppelganger's card art is different between games. In Lost Kingdoms, the card depicts Katia. This is meant to reflect that it is copying the appearance of the summoner (which is exactly what a Doppelganger is; an apparition or double of a living person) though this does not occur if you change your character in the 2P VS Mode.

Obtainability

Strategies

Doppelganger, once summoned, will wander the level until it bumps into another character. Be it friend, foe or something else, the Doppelganger will instantly kill that enemy. With its indiscriminatory power, the Doppelganger has the ability to backfire if it is not kept track of. When the Doppelganger has finished its attack, a black vortex opens underneath it, sucking the creature into the earth.

Trivia

  • The Doppelganger card's official art for Lost Kingdoms is different than how it appears when used in-game. This art is also seen at the end of the credits and is used in Two Player Mode with three different color variations for the player select screen.
  • The Doppelganger's model in Lost Kingdoms has some of its hair sticking up. This slightly differentiates its appearance from Katia's.

{{Card_Template}}The Doppelganger (Japanese: ドッパルゲンガー, Doppelganger) returns in Lost Kingdoms II. It retains both the Neutral attribute and the Independent type in the US and PAL versions, but its type was changed to Helper in RUNE II, the Japanese version.Like how it was in Lost Kingdoms, the Doppelganger is one still of the rarest and hardest cards to achieve in the sequel. It cannot be transformed into in all versions of this game, and the card can only be copied in RUNE II, the Japanese version. It is initially obtained by either fighting and defeating Queen Katia in the second stage of the Sacred Battle Arena or by capturing it in the same fight.

Appearance

Like the Unicorn, the Doppelganger's card art is different between games. In Lost Kingdoms II, the card depicts Tara instead. This is meant to reflect that it is copying the appearance of the summoner (which is exactly what a Doppelganger is; an apparition or double of a living person) though this does not occur if you change your character in the 2P VS Mode.

Obtainability

  • By defeating Katia in Sacred Battle Arena 2 for the first time
  • By capturing a Doppelganger when fighting Katia in Sacred Battle Arena 2
  • By importing Doppelganger cards from a Lost Kingdoms save file after clearing Sacred Battle Arena 2. The option to import cards can only be taken once.
  • By copying a Doppelganger card using 60000 EXP, but only in RUNE II. This card cannot be copied in the US and PAL versions.

Strategies

Doppelganger, once summoned, will wander the level until it bumps into another character. Be it friend, foe or something else, the Doppelganger will instantly kill that enemy, though some bosses in Lost Kingdoms II are immune to this effect. With its indiscriminatory power, the Doppelganger has the ability to backfire if it is not kept track of. When the Doppelganger has finished its attack, a black vortex opens underneath it, sucking the creature into the earth.
