In Lost Kingdoms, Experience Points (EXP) are split into two categories; Player EXP and Card EXP. Player Experience is permanent, whereas Card EXP is a resource that is spent on copying or transforming cards.
Lost Kingdoms
How to Earn EXP:
- Final Blows: The primary way to earn EXP is by having a card deal the final blow to an enemy monster.
- Magic Stones: All cards receive EXP based on the number of crystals collected during a battle.
How to Use EXP at the Apothecary:
- Duplicate Cards: Spend EXP to create a copy of a card.
- Transform Cards: Spend EXP to transform a card into another card.
Lost Kingdoms II
In Lost Kingdoms II, the Player and their Cards gain EXP when any enemy is defeated by any means. Player Experience is permanent, whereas Card EXP is a resource that is spent on copying or transforming cards. When Tara gains enough Player Experience, she will level up. Which can increase her Hit Points, Displayed Defense, Magic Points, and resistances to Special Damage Conditions. Notably, however, the Displayed Defense does not accurately represent Tara's defense. Tara's Defense value is dictated by her Title.
How to Earn EXP:
- Tara: Tara earns EXP when any enemy is defeated by any means.
- Cards: All cards earn EXP when an enemy is defeated by any means. Each copy of a card in your deck earns EXP.
- For example, if you have 10 Lizardman cards, 5 Dragon Knight cards, and 1 Man Trap card and an enemy that grants 100 exp dies, the Lizardman card gains 1,000 EXP, the Dragon Knight card gains 500 EXP, and the Man Trap cardgains 100 EXP.
- Landing the killing blow with Banshee grants double EXP to Tara and to each card in your deck.
- Lucky Lion grants double EXP to Tara and each card in your deck when in range of Tara while an enemy dies.
How to Use EXP at the Card Shop:
- Duplicate Cards: Spend EXP to create a copy of a card.
- Transform Cards: Spend EXP to transform a card into another card.
