In accordance to Fandom's Wiki Rule policy enacted on April 1st, 2021, this is a list of rules and guidelines set out for the Lost Kingdoms wiki, touching on topics from respect to writing conventions. These rules are based on examples from the Template Wiki, and were edited by admins Taptroupe and Graysilene to further suit the needs of the Lost Kingdoms Wiki.
Admin may be a big authoritative word, but please feel free to reach out at any time if you have questions or comments about the rules defined below.
Lastly, for more general questions about how Wikis work, feel free to refer to Fandom’s help area. Thank you!
Keep it civil
- Do not harass or make personal attacks on other people. If you need to criticize another user’s argument, do so without attacking them as a person. Do not use bigoted language, including slurs which degrade another person or group of people based on gender, race, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, etc.
Keep it on track
- Please make sure that your contributions and discussions are appropriate.
- We ask that you keep the content as safe for work as the scope of the game.
- On the rare occasions that the Lost Kingdoms wiki gets vandalized, feel free to undo changes - but it is recommended to leave a note that the changes were reverted for that reason.
- If you have fanworks or fan theories, a general rule of thumb is to keep them to personal pages or blog pages. For information on fan translations, please see the rules on established conventions.
Be a productive member of the wiki
- Contribute to the wiki in line with the established processes and conventions. If you have any inquiries, feel free to ask a quick question on the admin’s walls or ask in the Discord group. If it’s a longer question, feel free to make a blog post about it!
- There are a few proper nouns relating to Lost Kingdoms that have been stylized in different ways. For consistency, these are the ways in which we would like them formatted.
- Lost Kingdoms II
- RUNE II
- Fromsoftware
- Japanese names will be formatted with first name first, and surname last.
- Please feel free to ask about other proper nouns if needed.
- All writing and article titles are to be in American English standards. However, if there are any proper nouns that differ in spelling between NTSC/PAL versions of Lost Kingdoms, please feel free to add the PAL name into the article body. Creating a page redirect from the PAL title is also recommended.
- We have established page templates and infobox templates for things such as card pages. Please follow them to the best of your ability, and feel free to ask if you have questions about them.
- Fan translations are a key part of the documentation of Lost Kingdoms, as there are many pieces of content that is exclusive to Japanese versions or sources. Thus, we allow fan translations to be included in articles, but ask that they are explicitly labelled as unofficial.
- However, fan translations on card pages need not be specified, as there is a general disclaimer on the card list page.
- Please do not plagiarize writing found on other sites or sources. Quotes and paraphrasing are welcomed with a link back to the source.
Keep sources alive
- It is recommended to put sources of media in the description page of the media, if it is not your own content.
- Furthermore, if your media comes from another individual, such as from a fansite or one’s personal social media, then it is required to link back to the source. If a direct source can no longer be found, please mention the name of the website from which the media came from.
- We also recommend saving links through a service like the Wayback Machine. While press and gaming sites will most likely archive their media in proper condition, there is the very real possibility that other kinds of sources can disappear - especially for old game series such as Lost Kingdoms. If you come across a broken link or a link that now leads to a malicious website, please let us know.
